Its always a great time to spend with a community of craftspeople, families, and friends, of diverse backgrounds, ages, and experience levels, who come together to teach, learn, share, and laugh.

 

Return to Eden Hot Springs Retreat April 8th-12th 2015

Days at Eden are filled with soaking in the healing waters of our geothermal hot springs, opportunities for mediation and yoga, the most relevant and potent speakers of our time, initiations, creative expression, plant walks, movement and Sound/writing play shops all on the subjects of ceremony and living as the divine feminine and divine masculine in divine union.

Winter Count Primitive Living Skills Conference. The classes Doug taught were Plant Communication, Alternative To Dentist Tooth Care, and a class called Doug's Medicine Bag which featured some of Doug's favorite medicinal plants for maintaining and regaining great health.

Gila, New Mexico / October 17th-19th 2014

A beautiful Autumn workshop in the Gila. What a great time. We made baskets and learned about kidney/adrenal health for the winter.

The Yachay Waqachaq Journey was a gathering drawing together Elders from the South and North America’s here to celebrate and cultivate vibrant living, share cultural experiences and healing. This event was a unique celebration that truly signified a deep celebration of oral traditions, traditional Elders and sharing intercontinentally.

This was a real transformative experience for each participant involved. We offered a new class called Herbal Energetics for Seasonal Well-being of which is a strong foundation for maintaining harmonious balance in our lives.

Eden Hot Springs, AZ | September 21st-23rd, 2012

It is such a treat to immerse ourselves into the desert climate and to add healing hot spring waters into the mix.  Basketry was a really great way to soak up the relaxing atmosphere of Eden Hot Springs.  The plants are unique and powerful in this desert region.

Dallas, TX | August 30th-September 3rd, 2012

The Rethinking Everything conference in Dallas was an incredible opportunity to share plant medicine.  People gathered from many places to share knowledge of working toward supporting each person’s journey to afully alive state of interdependence, responsibility & empowerment.  Teaching plant medicine is an important avenue towards this enlivened state of being.

Santa Fe, NM | May 25th-27th, 2012

This Mayʼs Plant Medicine and Primitive Skills workshop with Doug Simons in Santa
Fe, New Mexico was a beautiful and deepening experience for all of us who attended -
many people traveled long distances to attend this three day event. We spent time
creeping closer to our plant relatives (which is what we have to do when the plant
people weʼre speaking with are small!) , enjoying the land and enjoying time with one
another.

Ajo, Arizona | March 16 – 18th, 2012

This was a beautiful weekend spent deep in the sonoran desert meeting so many special plants and a great group of fun-loving, diverse people!  Every person made fire!  We spent three days in the warm sun, wind and a little rain!  Each person had diverse knowledge to share!

Mesa, Arizona | January 14 – 15th, 2012

We spent a lovely two days together exploring the wonders of the desert and Doug’s Medicine Bags!  Doug’s Medicine Bags are full and alive as well as the knowledge and wisdom Doug has to share about them. We always love meeting new people and connecting with old friends!

Mesa, Arizona | November 12 – 13th, 2011

We had a beautiful two-day workshop at SW Herb in Mesa, Arizona where Doug shared his wisdom and knowledge about Kidney Adrenals and Yucca Basketry. In addition, we had a wonderful desert walk with showers off and on throughout the day learning the desert remedios.

Santa Fe, NM | September 30th-October 2, 2011

We had a powerful 3-day Weekend Camp-out in the beautiful Santa Fe Mountains,  submerged in Plant Communications while learning about our Kidneys and Adrenals, Whole Food vs. Rancidity, Natural Tooth care, and enjoying an incredible Lakota Sweat Lodge, called an ‘Inipi.’

Durango, Colorado | August 12th – 14th, 2011

We spent three inspiring days in the La Plata mountains of southern Colorado introducing ourselves to the strong spirits of the medicine plants, taking breaks to sweat with our Inipi (lakota sweat lodge) family and weave twined cattail baskets.

Red Rock, Texas | May 15th | 2011

Doug had a great time in Red Rock again to share his one-day workshop on Alternatives to Dentists and Treating Infections without Antibiotics. Hosted by Marjory Wildcraft, Doug gave practical alternatives to have happy and healthy teeth without having to go to the dentist.

 

Santa Fe, New Mexico | June 4 & 5th, 2011

A Free Lecture, Friday Night, @ Whole Foods Community Center where Doug spoke about our relationship to water, wild water, and water-based herbal infusions.

Then a great workshop @ the Audobon Center in Santa Fe where Doug guided us through the wilderness walking, talking and learning (remembering) your relationship with the plants in this majestic area.

Gila, New Mexico | May 9th | 2011

Doug took us on an edible plant walk Monday, May 9th in Gila, New Mexico. This full day walk focused on edible plants and their identification, the proper harvesting techniques including ethics and preparations.

This plant walk was hosted by Rob, owner of The Curious Kumquat in Silver City, New Mexico. Rob is the owner and chef of this awesome restaurant and he frequently features wild plants in his cuisine.

On Saturday April 23, in Silver City, New Mexico, Doug is giving a three hour plant walk. This is being hosted by Andrew Dhal-Bredine of The Gila Circle Way Project. 

Tucson, Arizona| April 9th | 2011

We had a wonderful light rain bless our walk, which eventually we took inside as we spoke about desert plants, the energetics of the plants and so much more. Thank you Dave & Rene’ Parke for being such wonderful hosts.
